The system is of immense value to STA in bringing transparency of permits.
With stabilization of the Permit Issuance System for over more than 2 years,
it is intended to leverage the system for:
A. Permit Governance:
Adding new services for issued permits including up-gradation of some existing system features.
B. Public Information:
Dissemination of route, timing, fare related information to public through both web/mobile interfaces.
C. Content Management:
Re-designing the system to serve as Odisha Public Transport Information System with user
specific interfaces / contents for public, bus-owners and authorities.
Under the Chairmanship of Transport Commissioner, the requirements were discussed in a meeting held at ORSAC
with detailed deliberation at STA, Cuttack on June 1, 2020. The requirements were discussed in a reference
to the SLA between STA and ORSAC and were categorized into:
• Functionalities to be covered under application maintenance w.r.t the SLA.
• Additional functionalities to be incorporated in the system as enhancement proposal.
Bus owners shall use this application to apply for different permit services like the temporary permit.
permit renewal, permit withdrawal. vehicle replacement route alteration and transfer of permit ownership,
interchange of permit change in nature of service, interstate permit, permit on rationalize route and vacant route.
Bus owners can make online payment and print their permit issue order copy from the account.
The bus owner can register complaint for time clash, track application status and get updates on hearing
dates for registered complaints.
Public are general users of the application and can access multiple services like: bus locations,
number of buses running between stoppages, view complete information regarding a bus such as safety details,
permit details, owner details, license details, etc without any login credentials.
Authorities are major users of this application. They can perform hearing meeting,
make decisions regarding a permit application that has been applied by multiple bus owners.
Authorities can login the system by specific role and permission allotted to them.
An authority can perform task based upon the permission allowed to their login role.
